Song of Solomon 2

OK, unlike this book I'm going to keep this G-rated, but today is my 18th anniversary. So this post is dedicated to my young stag husband. I first saw Brannon when I was 16 years old and thought he was just about the funniest and cutest guy on the planet. I've never met Harry Connick, Jr. in person, but if I had, then I could say conclusively that Brannon is for sure the hottest man alive. Although we waited for what seemed like a decade to get married, we were both still ridiculously young. We have spent our entire adult life together, through thick and thin, highs and lows, together. He is the one my heart loves.

I think I can speak for him too when I say this. To anyone who isn't married, or is but is struggling, please don't think all 18 years were like they are now. Now is awesome. But there were times that we wanted to commit murder/suicide, run away, or in my case at least, throw all the dishes against the wall. But I have come to realize that love is a choice we make every day. And when you choose to honor your commitment, not just to stay married but to love and cherish, God miraculously uses that to bind your hearts together in a way that you didn't think was possible. Commitment is one of the most important parts of true love.

I was wildly in love with Brannon 18 years ago, but I truly, deeply, madly love him today even more. He is the father of my three children, my spiritual leader, a hard-working and talented writer, my best friend, and the man of my dreams.

I love you Brannon. And I always will. Happy anniversary, baby.

WOW!! There are two amens before I even got to read this--impressive.
Today is our 43rd--and I could "ditto" everything you said. We looked at each other last night before falling into bed at 9:00PM after painting MeMe's house at the end of a long catch-up day from being on a beautiful Colorado Train Ride adventure with our first two grandsons and said, "Man, we've been through alot together these 28+ years!" We were 15 & 17 when we met, so we, too, have 'grown up together'. Working through the challenges of a shared life is soooo worth the joy of sharing life together. Can't imagine life any other or better way. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, Brannon & Kendi!!
PS I thought dad was the funniest & cutest guy on the planet too!!!!

Whoops--I said 28+ years, rather than 43+.
Yep, those two Goldens were married on our 25th Anniversary. In just seven short years we will celebrate 25 and 50 together. My Goodness, where does the time go?
And, I must say, Ken is and was the first day I saw him and will always be--THE ONE MY HEART LOVES!!!
