Psalm 66

All the earth worships Thee; they sing praises to Thee; sing praises to Thy name.
Here's the other plaque we found that somehow has slipped past the atheist lobbyists. We loved it. And this chapter tells the same story the canyon itself also proclaims. Another part I love is that it also commands us to sing loudly to Him. Tonight I got the joy of leading over a hundred kids in worship. Sometimes I worry that teaching them to scream and dance and shout and sing at the top of their lungs may cause them to miss the point of intimate worship of their personal God and become just a fun activity to do. But I think this chapter and the other reminds me that He is pleased by our loud songs and that's exactly what His glorious power demands.
Let the whole world bless our God and loudly sing his praises. Our lives are in his hands, and he keeps our feet from stumbling.
(I included that second verse because I am truly grateful that He did in fact keep any of us from stumbling this week. Our lives were definitely in His hands a lot of the time!)
The last cool thing about this chapter is that this week's memory verse at LifeKIDS was verse 19. This is probably the most amazing twist of all. This vast, untamed, unlimited, glorious God hears our prayers. That is just awesome. Because of that honor, take the time to pray to Him today. Confess anything you have thought you have held back from Him.
