Titus 2

This chapter continues to speak to me about something God has been personally convicting me about. It has a constant thread that says that our behavior should be a blameless example of the power of God's grace to change lives. In a conversation today with friends, we asked, "So who really lives this way?"

The bottom line is, when we choose the pleasures of this world in any measure--entertainment, convenience, distractions, indulgences, sin, and selfishness--we are really saying that we don't believe that accepting Christ's invitation to pursue an intimate relationship with the Creator of the universe is really going to satisfy us. We're saying that what we think we need and want, we must get on our own apart from Him.

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.

Am I waiting for my blessed hope or trying to live it out in the flesh in this life?
Am I seeking to see the glory of God or seeking worldly passions?
Am I allowing God to purify me or am I still my own possession?
How much can I hold back and still qualify as zealous?

Lord, it doesn't matter to me who really lives like this. I'm going all in. My hope is in You. I want to see your face.
