3 John

It is well with my soul. My circumstances are iffy, and probably always will be in some ways, but inside I'm doing great. When I went to a trusted friend recently for some advice, he talked a lot about focusing on getting right inside. My attitude. My walk with God. My inner self. But honestly, that's the part that seems to be going well right now. I'm standing on the truth. I know who I am. I know what I've been called to. I know whom I serve. I know He is able. I know His grace is more than enough for me.

Then we have Diotrephes and Demetrius. I wish this little letter gave more dirt about what was going on with these two. One is held up as an example of what not to do and one held up as an example of someone to imitate.

I have been dumping heaping helpings of teaching, advice, prayer, scripture, and other faith-building input into myself so much this year. But now I think I'm going to focus on finding a Demetrius to imitate. I think I have one in mind. Someone who has successfully navigated these particular rapids before me.
