Psalm 131

I cannot say that this psalm is true of me. However, knowing that this one is attributed to David gives me hope. If a king of a nation who has every reason to have a prideful, haughty, disquieted heart can overcome it, then so can we. When I look at it as a whole it looks like there's no way I can live like that, but the action step here is to still and quiet my soul.

LORD, help me to quiet my soul. Calm my over-eagerness to do things on my own strength. Still my racing thoughts. Lead me to put my hope in you.
