Psalm 122

God wants us to worship Him on His terms. He wants us to come together to worship. He wants us to come to His house. I believe that although through Christ, our bodies have become the temple of God's Holy Spirit, that believers as a group meeting together become a house of God. Our churches obviously then are a place of worship. A house of God. And we should pray for and work for the good of the success of whatever local body of believers we meet with.

For the sake of God's house, we need to be glad to come. We need to do our part. Serving to accomplish the tasks of ministry, giving to fund the expenses of outreach, praying for the leadership and members, and worshiping together with our full participation are all ways we can honor God's house.

But above all, like this Psalm reminds us, we must be excited to go there. If you're not excited about the body of believers that you have been called to worship with, then I suggest you stop whatever you're doing in life and make it your top priority to get that way. Maybe you've disobeyed God about where to be. Maybe you're not plugging in and serving. Maybe your heart's not in it because your money's not in it. Maybe you're disgruntled because you're complaining about your leaders instead of praying earnestly for them. Maybe you're not showing up to worship with clean hands and an innocent heart. Whatever it is, don't go another week without seeking God about His House and your place in it.
